Community Services This newly created department encompasses community development and special event activities. The purpose of the Community Services Department is to aggressively promote, recruit, and retain business in the community. Without economic development, particularly in the downtown core, a community loses businesses and competitiveness against other communities. The department is responsible for actively recruiting new businesses for Antioch, through public relation and marketing campaigns, and assisting in various community related projects.
