Finance
The finance department is responsible for the central financial functions of the Village. These functions include investments, collections, financial services, purchasing, and budgetary support. The department presents the financial position of the Village's funds in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) promulgated by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
Duties include formulation and execution of the Village's financial policies, and compiling interim and annual financial information to facilitate management control of financial operations. The department oversees audits of the Village's financial records, and is also responsible for reporting to external agencies. The purchasing and accounts payable program element places purchase orders and contracts to obtain the equipment, materials and services required by the Village. The purchasing element also administers the accounts payable checks for payment.
