According to the National Weather Service, a significant storm system will impact the region tonight through Saturday night, bringing multiple threats, including freezing rain, sleet, snow and high winds. Flooding from heavy rain is possible tonight and Saturday as well.
The winter storm warning and advisories are in affect from 9pm tonight until 3am Sunday January 12th.
Although our crews will be clearing the roadways as quickly as possible, the amount of snow expected will cause significant travel difficulties. Avoid travel if at all possible.
We would also like to remind our residents of the following:
- Remove your vehicles from the roadway so that the roads can be plowed and our emergency vehicles can get through.
- Clear snow from around fire hydrants.
- Do not let your children play in the snow near the roadway where plow crews may not be able to see them.
If in distress, please call 9-1-1 for assistance.
