Last week, Antioch was recognized on a statewide stage as Sequoit Creek Park received the Highest Engineering Excellence Award in Illinois. The Village has been awarded a $580,694 federal grant to improve and repair accessibility issues along sidewalks and business entrances on Main and Lake streets. This project will enhance safety and accessibility for residents and visitors with disabilities and mobility challenges, ensuring a more inclusive downtown for all. The Parks & Recreation Department is offering Schools’ Day Out, a flexible, fun childcare program on days off, giving children ages 5 to 12 a day filled with sports, games, cooking, art, and special activities - while parents enjoy peace of mind. The next sessions are on Friday, February 13 (school in-service day) and Monday, February 16 (Presidents' Day).
