Lateral Requirements:
Currently employed as a full-time sworn law enforcement officer in Illinois
- Illinois Law Enforcement Certification (ILETSB)
- Minimum 2 years of full-time sworn experience preferred
- Good standing with current/most recent department
- U.S. Citizen with valid driver’s license

Minimum Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen
- 21 to 35 years old (unless exempt under state law)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Must pass: written exam, oral interview, polygraph, psychological and medical exams, and a thorough background investigation
