Today we observe Juneteenth, a day of freedom, reflection and remembrance. Juneteenth - short for “June Nineteenth” - commemorates June 19, 1865, when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to enforce the emancipation of enslaved people. Their arrival came more than two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. Juneteenth marks a pivotal moment in American history and honors the end of slavery in the United States. #juneteenth #juneteenth2026

Big congratulations to Village of Antioch Senior Accountant Beckey Kijak on her installation as President of the Illinois Municipal Treasurers Association. For the past 53 years, IMTA has provided public service, professional excellence, and educational services to local government finance officials. Beckey is the fourth President to serve two terms as President.
This is a great accomplishment and a well-deserved recognition of Beckey’s dedication and leadership in municipal finance. Beckey was sworn into her role by a familiar face, Village of Antioch Finance Director Michael Peterson.
We are proud to have Beckey representing the Village of Antioch in this important statewide leadership position.
Congratulations, Beckey!

Recent Storm Clean Up –
High winds brought by recent storms to the Village caused tree damage and left storm debris throughout our community. After assessing the extent of the damage, the Village of Antioch's Public Works Department will conduct a village-wide chipping program for storm-related tree debris. If you would like to participate in this free service, please have branches to be chipped out by Monday, June 22, 2026.
Residents who wish to participate should place storm debris at the curb in an orderly manner, with cut ends facing the street if possible. Please do not place debris in the roadway, block sidewalks, or mix other materials such as logs, root balls, leaves, or construction debris with the branches to be chipped.
Parents and caregivers looking for a meaningful way to introduce their little ones to learning and social interaction are invited to explore Time for Me Two, a parent and tot program created especially for 2-year-olds.
