COVID-19 Daily Update from the Village of Antioch – March 23, 2020
The Antioch Emergency Operations Team, consisting of leadership from the Village, Township and the First Fire Protection District is meeting daily to review operations and provide updates on services. These updates will be shared with the public on a daily basis whenever possible.
As of today, our Police and Fire Departments continue to report no issues with compliance of the stay-at-home order issued by the Governor. Village departments continue to provide essential services to the public while maintaining social distance requirements established by the CDC and other health agencies. We are not aware of any direct impact to our community at this time, but are prepared if, and when, that time comes. For more information on the Stay-at-home order, please visit our website at: https://antioch.il.gov/covid-19/
Our Fire Department is in constant contact with area hospitals on the most current protocols of treatment and transport to hospitals. Transport of suspected COVID-19 patients to the hospital will be at the discretion and direction of the hospital. Suspected COVID-19 patients might be asked to shelter at home.
At this time, Lake County has reported up to 80 exposures, with over 1,000 in the State of Illinois and over 8,000 tested.
At this time, the Antioch Library is closed to the public.
The Antioch Township has created a senior taskforce. This group of volunteers has been established to connect on a weekly basis with seniors to see if they need prescriptions, groceries, or other essentials. If you are healthy and able to be a friend to a senior in need, please reach out to Courtney Kotloski at firstname.lastname@example.org and send your name, email, address, and phone number to be partnered with a friend.
We are asking residents and businesses for donations of any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) they may be able to provide. Donations of clean masks, gloves and sanitizers may be dropped off in the west lobby of the Antioch Police Department.
